The Vas is isolated and drawn gently
through the skin for the next stage. It is recognised readily because it has the
consistency of uncooked spagetti whereas the other tubes in the scrotum are soft like
cooked spagetti! |
 |
The Vas is cauterised using a radio frequency current to seal the Vas
tube. This electrode can also be used to stop any bleeding blood vessels minimising the
risks of bruising and swelling. |
 |
The second Vas is brought out through a 2nd incision on the
other side. |
 |
The skin incision is clamped for a few seconds to stop small bleeding
vessels |
 |
Special powder is dusted onto the wound to speed healing. At no point are
stitches used so there is less chance of infection and post operation complications. |
 |
Finally a gauze dressing is applied and two pairs of tight underwear worn
to apply local pressure. |
